Great idea Larry! We don't seem to have problems with the shelves, however, since we pack it up with compressed pillows and light blankets to keep the weight down. We now stack them up along with the side support pieces on the bottom since the supports fall out when the cabinet is in the travel position.

Depending on our satisfaction with the changes over the next several trips, I might look to make the shelves more permanent. Your suggestion would be helpful in this case.
