Yes, I had the same problem, and it was really annoying - until I got used to opening the door, while extending the awning, and making sure the awning frame was high enough to clear the top of the door. Sounds simple enough, but it took several SCREECHES, before I decided to adjust the height of the awning to the door - while setting up!
