Sounds like a short in the battery. Just to be sure, disconnect the battery and see if this activity continues. If it does, start shopping for a battery.

This may be a good time to upgrade to dual batteries if you do any dry camping at all. If you don't do dry camping, it doesn't matter much what kind of battery system you have but I'd recommend stay with a 12V Deep Cycle.
