According to the link in post #1 above, a replacement draws 175 mA at 12 VDC = 2.1 watts. Quite a bit less. But the idea of replacing ONE light, just to try it out, is a good one. LED lights don't have the same beam pattern as incandescents, and often have a much more focussed beam. So although they may be just as bright within the beam, they may or may not be a good substitute since they may be entirely dark outside the narrow beam. And since they are quite expensive, you probably don't want to buy a bunch until you know what they will do for you.

By the way, one of the cheap multi-LED battery-powered lanterns from WalMart can be a very handy thing to have. Since they are powered by their own A- or D-cell batteries, they draw nothing from the TM battery. Portable, too.
