Ken, you may end up replacing the whole faucet, verses just the cap. If you knew the brand of faucet that would help a lot, but it doesn't mean that you'll find that exact part you need.
I know replacing the faucet is not easy, but it has been done. I've added a couple of links; two are for RV faucet replacement sites and the first is from the plumbing section of the forum on replacing the faucet. You might even find the same version of your faucet from other commenters ideas where you could cannibalize the part you need.
