Thanks for the great recommendation, Cheri. For anyone who doesn't live in California but have plans on coming, Monterey on the coast is one of the most beautiful places in California to see... definately worth a visit - lots to do and the restaurants are amongst some of the finest in the world. The Monterey Bay Cannery is a wonderful tourist area, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium is world class, a must see! There are many coastal state parks in the area and Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world, is nearby also. But the hotels and motels, like Cheri said, are very pricey and would scare you away from the area. Good thing there are some wonderful RV accomodations, but be sure to book well in advance as this is a very popular area.
