On multiple occasions I have closed the outer shell and one or the other corner latches got caught inside the shell, bending the latch a little. After enough times, it will fail. This happened while preparing to return home.
I used rope to hold down the front shell to get me home. I ordered two latches from the factory, but due to a mis-communication, I ended up with 4.
I should throw one in the rear storage compartment, just in case.
It was only the part that threads into the square nut that failed, so it was easy to fix.
