Certainly a fair question, especially if you are looking for someone to service the appliances and running gear (brakes, axles, etc). These things are made by third-party manufacturers (in other words, not by TM), and can be serviced by any good RV mechanic, as you asked for. But if you need someone to service the stuff that is very TM-specific - especially the torsion bars that lift the shells - you will need a TM dealer. And in my experience, it is iffy even then.
