FWIW, our table leg is still working with its blob of duct tape jammed in the end (as mentioned in above thread). When it started to jam, I first hit it with WD-40, then white lithium grease. Those lubricants wear off in like, one use. Bottomline is if you just don't push the bottom leg all the way up, it'll work fine next time. Stop it early like Bill mentioned and you'll be fine. I just have kids who instinctively have to shove the thing all the way up every time, so the duct tape stopper works better for our family.
