I wanted to go to the rally in Petaluma, but couldn't make it, in part because of the long drive. A SoCal meet would be cool.

If we want to do a beach campground, I think it would be much better to plan for it to be sometime other than in the summer....or even temps warm enough for swimming/sunbathing. Otherwise, the beach campgrounds are a zoo.

The desert is a great time in the winter too....Joshua Tree National Park might be an option. Black Rock campground takes reservations this time of year, but there are no hookups. There is a dump station, however.
