Default Electrical Problems

Just purchased a used private party 2008 2720SD, overall nice condition, couple who sold it said a lot of the lights were burnt out....I thought, "Ok", got it home, plugged it in to A/C and tried lights, all four of the fluorescents lights dont work? put new bulbs in two of them, still nothing, the vent fan works, water pump works, lights by front front roof vents work, but light bulbs on front wall cabinets, dont work, replaced bulbs, still dont work and the incandescent bulb in back over bed light was changed but doesnt work, breakers are reset, fuses look good? dont know what to do here?

Make sure the bathroom walls are snugly set into place. There are a couple of electrical cutoff switches that shut off power when the bathroom is closed up. I discovered this the first time I set up my 2720SD.

Also make sure little things like the fuses and circuit breakers haven't tripped or blown.

By the way, if you haven't already done so, that $12/year is really helpful. There are tons of helpful threads in the paid portion of this forum. I don't usually buy forum memberships, but I did for this one.

And welcome to the TM family. I joined recently and haven't yet taken our 2720 for a trip yet, but looking forwards to it.

Do you mean the Redding lights over the couch? If so, there is a second on/off switch set into one of the roof vents on the trim. Check that switch as well. They both have to be on for the lights to work.

Default You guys are awesome

Wow, I feel pretty stupid but am so thankful for all you great people on this site. being brand new to trail manor, yes, I noticed the small black switch on the roof vent trim you pointed out, clicked it on and the reading lights over the couch lit up!!!! Hurray! was beginning to think I was going to have to take to repair shop for big $$$ to get working. I have owed Casita's, popup canvas trailers, an airstream, but guess there's a few funky tricks to Trailmanor that had me stumped, not anymore thanks to you guys. much appreciated.

Default New to You

Congrats, you will have some great times ahead.

It sounds like you did not receive an owners manual with your TM so on this web site you can find one to print out and read all the way thru and then keep it handy for reference.

Have fun!

Don't feel stupid. I bought my camper from a dealer that "should" have had knowledge on how it operates and I never learned about that switch either. MY knowledge came from someone else commenting about their lights and to check the switch. This forum is excellent in sharing knowledge so we can all have a good time camping with the TM. Welcome to the forum.
