Default shredded A/C filter

Recently purchased 2720 that needed some cleaning up. Dropped grille off A/C and found pile of shredded white paper on the pan. The thin synthetic material filters were okay. Was that shredded paper also a filter or damper? Or perhaps it was simply carried in by the mice for their nest (yes, mouse evidence was abundant). If it is an integral part of the A/C, what is the part name or number please? The A/C is an RVP model 9000, I think.

Thanks, Krayfiver

I don't believe it belongs there. Mine has dark gray screen-type material, but nothing else.

+2 gray. If you have mice, bait for them. They have great memory for where they made a nest.

What year TM, where is the AC (roof or side - sounds like a side), & a picture would be best. My Coleman Mach III rooftop has a gray foam filter.

thank you all for your replies. It is a rooftop mount. Evidently it was exotic material imported by the mice. This is an '06 2720 that has found a good home away from those pesky meeses! I hates those meeses to pieces! I no longer need stress about finding a replacement part!!

Tnx

Karl

And no worries when you do need to replace your foam intake filters. I get the material at Home Depot and cut to size. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Frost-Kin...1524/202318549

At 97 cents it's a bit pricey, but you can get many filters from a single sheet.

Hey, be careful not to overly restrict your air flow, but I've found that laying a dryer sheet in there will make the whole camper smell wonderful (not to mention that some believe this will also deter mice?)!!
