Seeking your great storage idea…
We have not made it to a TM rally yet. That will be next year. We have not even seen another TM setup. We are interested in seeing [a picture is worth…] how you have customized your “bulk storage area” under the bed.
We added two plastic drawers under the bed that are semi-useful for holding socks, shorts, t-shirts, etc. We sure don’t consider a great storage idea and we trying to figure out a better use of the compartment.
On our only long trip [18 days] so far we stored most of our clothes, both clean and dirty, in the TV, [a full size van]. We carried 2/3 days of clothes in the TM and restocked as necessary. This way we did not have to cram. We are not light packers and on this trip and those upcoming, we will need both warm and cool weather clothes which takes up so much more space. Fortunately there are just the two of us.

jouster,
I use the plastic ventilated baskets more like the one seen in the background of your picture. They go under the counter between my sink and the cook stove as well as the other cabinet spaces. They eliminate getting down on the knees to get something in the back and can be taken into the house to repack for the next trip. The best ones I found are Rubbermaid found at Wal-Mart. The larger ones fill a whole cabinet. I use smaller ones for DW's medical dressings, my ditty box (shaver, etc.) vitamins, and games. Just get the basket out that has the subject matter you need.
Lots of folx use drawer runners to hold their baskets and they like them very much as well.
Another nice device is a laundry hamper from Camping World that consists of a springy-thingy (like the whip-open windshield covers) and is wrapped in nylon. It folds down real small when in storage (rarely) and carries soiled wash into the house as well as clean items back out for storage in the drawers.
YMMV

Updated Link To Photos
Bob -
Got a pointer to the "springy-thingy"? We use a mesh bag hanging from the crossbar in the wardrobe, but I am not entirely pleased with it.
BTW, I am one of the fanatics who built full-rolling drawers for my earlier TM. The thread is http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...ead.php?p=6598
and the pictures are now available at http://home.comcast.net/~trailmanor/kitch.htm.
Gotta do it soon for the new one, incorporating what I learned the first time. But I would love to hear experiences (good and bad) from anyone else who has done it.

Check this out on page 2. I went to campingworld.com and searched on Laundry.
The cylindric one on page 2 is made the same way but larger. It is more of a garbage can and is great also. It folds flat when the bag is removed. Mine was in the store for ~$7.5.

Updated Link To Photos
I have corrected the link to the kitchen-drawer photos that I posted above.
Special thanks to Rick Newcomb for hosting these, on his old site and now on his new one.

Thanks Bill
I can not still get to the original post, but I printed out the pictures and instructions in the pdf and that would seem to answer any questions. Many Thanks. Looks like a good Winter project.
FYI this is what I get when I try to access the post

I'm not sure why you can't get to the thread. However, it may be related to the fact that although you registered as a guest a year and a half ago, you still haven't become a sponsor. C'mon, $12 is cheap for what you're getting from this forum!

Now Subscribed
I never poked around in the places where subscriptions are solicited or if I did I thought it was the same as Trailblazers. I know it apparent to you, but it did not stand out to me my friend. I am now a happy subscriber.

Texas Campers Ideas
Some good ideas! I had not seen the rack of hooks before. We have two individual over the door hooks. But the more the better. I will keep and eye out for them.
Our focus right now is on making the best use of the under bed storage. We bought several plastic drawers at Lowe's Saturday. The next chance we get to erect the TM we will see if they work better than what we have now. They can not extend too far forward or we will lose access to things on the far left. We are using the far left to store bulky seldom needed things like an extra blanket. If the new devices work out, I will take a picture and post it.
Cheers

The final solution
First, thanks for the ideas.
For underbed storage, we located some slightly wider drawers [than we had] at Lowe's [18x20x9] Two fit vertically leaving some room on top for a blanket. The drawers can be taken inside for packing.
We stumbled over what we think is an ideal storage for our needs at Lowe's. We will use it for socks and underwear, the seldom used, but needed, first aid supplies, etc, without having to get on my knees. It fits in the hanging cabinet, resting on the "shelf" at the rear of the cabinet. I secured it by drilling two 1/8 holes through the top of the unit and through the cabinet and used a butterfly anchor. Almost all of the weight will be on the "shelf". Bonus, little damage to the TM - only two 1/8 holes. Half of the cabinet is still open for hanging clothes, plus the area under the new storage unit. We think this one is a winner.
