Default Refrigerator 12 VDC Cut Off Switch

I recently installed a 12 VDC refrigerator cut off switch to conserve house battery power while traveling with the refrigerator on DC mode and stopping for lunch or dinner along the way.

The switch is a relatively new design from Blue Sea Systems:

https://www.bluesea.com/products/430...l_-_2_Position

and was purchased from Defender at a good price point:

http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?...003&id=2448948

Attached are a few photos of the weatherproof junction box and switch. Additional annotated photos can be found at:

Shortly after Christmas we will start our annual trip to AZ for the winter. Now when we stop for more than a few minutes, I will be able to turn off the refrigerator and fan without having to open the TM.

I will post an update on how things work out with the new switch.

I like the set up but would need a huge flashing light to remind me to turn it on after a stop!!

Nice setup, Blue Sea makes good stuff although expensive. I went cheap from Harbor Freight.

That looks like a nice switch, and good to know about. I installed a different switch for the exact same purpose, and despite the weatherproofing being designed for an exterior deck (i.e. rain), it so far has lasted fine. But I live in SoCal where it never rains, so I'd definitely use the one you used if I had to do it again.
