Default A/C help

Would like to know what other a/c units owners have installed on their trailers besides Atwood. My Coleman went out and I was wanting to replace it with a Atwood Aircommand, however all the places I have checked and tried to order I have been told they are now discontinued. Really was not impressed with the Coleman. Any problems with control boxes/air distribution box as far as size, air flow and most important "folding up of the trailer". Thanks in advance.

I just got an Atwood Air Command... Who’s saying they are discontinued? I feel like someone else has had this issue before, too...

I checked the Company website and they show several RV dealers who are dealers in Odessa, TX.

Default Discontinued aircommand ? model 15026

I ordered from Value RV parts and a week later was refunded with the reason being they are discontinued. I then checked with rvupgrades.com and for the model 15026 it shows no longer ava. Yes there are dealers in Odessa, but don't want to pay full price, plus some. Kinda cheap that way.
For those who don't know the oilfield is blowing and going like crazy. RV trailer lot rent in my town averages $650 per month and up, no laundry, most no cable(whole town has no cable)-satellite, very iffy ATT cell service. Price is driven by large demand.
Just looking for a cheaper cost than paying thru the nose, am not opposed to ordering online if I can find a good replacement. Just trying to make sure whatever I do I end up, the controls/lower control unit that will allow the trailer to fold up and not rub on the rear shell.

Have you experienced any specific problems with the Coleman? Other than the noisy fan, of course? If I can ask, in what ways might the Atwood be better?

Is this for your '07 2720? TM has used two or three different models of the Coleman over the years, starting with a rather tall one, and moving to lower profile models a few years ago. The '07 Coleman may not even be available any more. There are a number of manufacturers, and they all seem to be changing names on a regular basis. Suburban became Coleman, I think, and then RVComfort, and then AirXcel, for example. It may be worth some effort to make sure you cover them all.

Hello Bill, The Coleman compressor locked up. It was a low pro style. Yes this is for the 07' 2720. Sold my 06' 2720 sd. Still have the 05' 3023. Not worried about getting another low pro style as storage is unlimited in height. Just read on the forum were other TM owners had replaced theirs with Aircommands with good results. Just looking for the best replacement at the best price with the ease on the install, as I will be doing it myself. Yes, I have looked at other brands (Brisks ll and Mach 3). Lower units/controls are the concern.

John -

Not to beat a dying a horse, but did the compressor actually lock up (bad problem, but unusual!), or did it simply hum and fail to start (common, and an easy fix). PM me if you prefer.

Just thinkin' ...
