Dave,

I orderd my Elkmont 24 2010 with Power Lift Jacks. ($1,884.00) extra, also a Electrc Tongue Jack ($285.00). Have had a few problems with the Lift jacks. The Electric cable would hang a little low when the Jacks were retraced and they got cought on a few driveways (Gas Stations most of the time). So I learned early to Watch what I was doing. Had to take it back to Custom RV or fixing (they did it no charge) I started using a Bunge cord attached to the wire and the trailer frame, it works great. The cords are long enough not to put much pull when extending the jacks almost all the way. But strong enough to keep the wires up in the air when retracted.
My latest problem was this weekend. Could not get the left front to extend. So today with some help, I ued a (cheater bar??) and put pressure ont the jack and at the same time hit the switch and the jack went down. I did this a few times to make sure it worked. I guess when I retracted it the last time I put too much strain on the motor and it got stuck. Live and learn.

John -

I'm surprised neither the manufacturer or Custom RV didn't do a better fix for those wires. Attaching/detaching a bungee every time is a PITA. Not having seen one for myself, I don't know what exactly would work, but based on what I've seen and your description, wouldn't a coiled wire work "automatically"? Seems like it would be a simple solution, and cheap.

$2k is alot to spend on jacks and not have them work like magic.

Dave
I only had to attach them the first time. They have worked fine. But yes I would have hoped that Trailmanor would have some way of making them work better.

My Son is 4, so I fail on #2

This made me laugh, especially picturing him trying to crank the jacks.
