Second problem camping this weekend
The second problem we had this weekend was waking up to a big puddle of water overflowing out of the fresh water tanks vent...we did not fill the tank it was somehow back fed thru a one way check valve or thru the water pump which was off as we have full hook ups here. Does anyone know if there is a check valve in this line if not it has to be the water pump..
Thanks again, George

Bill drew one in his diagram, it's right after the pump. I would not have expected that anyone would depend on the pump to be resistant to back-pressure without a check valve. So, it's not the pump.

The head of the pump assembly has a check valve built into it.
You might be lucky and all it needs is cleaning. Or, you need this kit for a 2088 pump. "SHURFLO 94-237-00 Series 2088 Check Valve Kit"

This also brings up another project... That vent should really extend down and out of the camper. Those who have modified the drain valve to allow filling of the freshwater tank with the camper closed have probably already done this.

Thinking about your issue last night. Before I started taking the pump apart or replacing it. I would pump some water through it from the tank.
It might be a sticky or dirty valve. I had the street hose check valve leak on one of my campers at the start of the year. I was flushing out the tank and water system using the pump. Water started spraying out the hose connection. I stoped the pump and connected the hose and ran water a few minutes. Keep the camper 3 plus more years and never had the issue again.
It might fix the pump check valve by Just pumping water through it?

Hello tentcamper I actually tried running the pump for a while yesterday in case the check valve was stuck or dirty and that seemed to clear the problem. I replaced the pump about 2 years ago so I don't think the check valve is bad...btw I didn't see any any other in line check valves around the pump I think the only one is the one inside the pump...
