For the thermostat or for the refrigerator?

Pick out your favorite digital thermostat, any hardware store has them. Disconnect the two wires from the old one than remove it. Mount the new one and install the two wires. Put in the batteries and set the set points. They work great. Next to the refer isn't the best place because the heat there tends to lie to the thermostat but I have been to lazy to move it to the bathroom wall as another member did.

This is one of the simplest and best mods to do. This is another area where the RV industry lets us down by letting parts cost over ride quality.

Make sure the thermostat you get has an off function ( and don't forget to use it) as in most of the country, the temp inside the TM will go below the normal min set point when the TM is in winter storage. You don't want the furnace to try starting even if you did remember to shut off the propane.

And don't forget to join TMO... It looks like your 1 month trial membership expires on Sunday.

It is the best $12 you will ever spend on your TM.

something doesn't make sence to me with this. perhaps you can explain. if you have the original analog thermostate... wouldnt the same be the case? if you have it turned all the way down wouldn't the furnace turn on also if temps drop below the lowest set point of the thermostat? in fact I know this to be true... at least with the TM open. it turned on for me once. but not sure if it was all the way down. can you tell me if I'm wrong? thanks
