Default Kettleson Campers hail damage!!

My wife and I drove from Dallas to Kettleson Campers in Denver . Pulled our trailor all the way there for trade in, only to find hail damage on the 3124. We were not informed about this beforehand. so disappointed !

Unfortunately, hail damage is fairly common on TM roofs because the aluminum-clad styrofoam skins are pretty soft.
I drove 2 states over to get mine, only to find hail pecks in the roof. The dealer claimed that he did not notice it, which is possible.
If everything else is ok, and the damage is not too bad, see how much they will reduce the cost.

Depending on the damage it could be caused by falling objects or someone crawling on the roof

We had nut fall out of trees that have caused dents on our roof on several campers we owned. One had quite a few dents from camping under a nut tree and the second day at the campsite the tree began dropping nuts when the sun came out.

Ask to see the title. It is quite common for an insurance company to declare a TM totaled by hail damage, since it is basically non-repairable. They pay off the claim (less salvage value), then return the TM to the owner with a title that indicates it was totaled. The owner can then sell or trade the TM to anyone (a dealer, for instance) for a very low price, and then buy - or not buy - another camper. If this is the case with the TM you are looking at, the dealer should have a lot of wiggle room, especially if the title is marked.

A few months ago, we had a long and informative discussion about marked titles, and about this process. Sara, you were knowledgeable. Perhaps someone can find it.
