Default A/C spacer

The A/C unit has a spacer that attaches to the roof. Can it be removed so the A/C unit can be lowered?

I think the spacer is there because the roof is so thin. The vents have the same spacer/riser. I don’t think the A/C, vents, and Fan-tastic fan can accommodate such a thin roof without the spacer.

Default A/C Spacer

That 'spacer' allows for recessing the vent cover and controls on the inside. Without that rise, cover would be crushed when the trailer is closed.

I don't even thing there is enough clearance between the Ac and the roof of the rear section to close the camper without the spacer. You would have to measure it. You might be able to custom build a riser that is not as tall.

John, why are you thinking about removing this spacer? As others have said the spacer needs to be installed. If yours is damaged or bad it can be replaced.
