Default Dealer with new units!

  From the TrailManor Facebook page:
"Auto RV America is a new TrailManor dealer in Englewood, Colorado. Their address is 4955 S. Broadway in Englewood; phone - 720-246-9000. Email - [email protected]"

I stopped-in today, and they have two on the lot (the 3124 is sold). The 2720 is still for sale, and they expect two more in about 3 weeks. I only had a few minutes, so I didn't get into much detail with the salesman.

The units appear to be in better condition than what was being made in Nebraska, but the builders still have some kinks to work out. Without having time to look closely (what I saw was cosmetic challenges), I would say I would buy one, if I were looking for a TM. However, I am handy, and can fix much of what may go wrong with any travel trailer. If someone is looking for a perfect unit, wait a little longer.

I am encouraged after talking with the salesman (I am bad with names, but it may have been Corey, as noted above). The factory is inviting his feedback, so they know they have challenges to overcome.

So, if you want to see a new unit, come to Denver (Englewood)! There may also be a new unit or two at Custom RV in California.

Yes we have discussed it for a couple of months (link is below), but you are the first to post about having gone there in person!

It's very good news and hopefully this time around the new owners will have a Quality Program and fix issues as they are reported back.

br2, thanks for the link! I missed that thread, as I was looking in a different area, not looking in the For Sale area.

The photos in that thread are of the unit(s) they have on the lot. The outside graphics are green and black. I think they look good. We'll see how the dealer fixes the problems that were visible when I did my brief glance-through.

Where’s the green? The stripes look black/gray...

It is a subtle green, not overwhelming. it is part of what appears to be black/grey.

Default Englewood TM dealer

My wife and I spent an hour going over the two units on their lot on April 13th. Took many pix. Will share my observations when at a computer. The 3124 is a Nebraska unit “finished “ in new SD factory. Smaller unit is a SD factory build.

Default 2018 TM's on Englewood lot

We spent about an hour going over both units to look at finish and trim as well as workmanship. Generally these are both the same as our units. The 3124 is out of Nebraska and was pre sold to some individual who allowed TM to use it at a Colorado Springs show. It is not in mint condition. The other one is new out of the SD factory.

If one looks back at a previous thread where several of us were first commenting on these two units through pictures on the dealer's website, one will see that there were comments about trim and cabinet differences; sink heights, bathroom sink configs, etc. These are all true. The two trailers are finished differently. The 3124 out of Nebraska has some of the cabinet work we are used to now, but it also has a different kitchen and bathroom sink config than our '07 3124. Also, the cabinet work is quite different between Nebraska and SD. Still light weight staple construction, but different end product.

Both trailers have the electrical hook up where the male end is on the back driver side to be mated to a fully separate 30 amp cord. Wiring behind the fridge is still a rat's nest, plus there is a box under the trailer under the fridge that is just a bunch of twist nut connections. I told the dealer that dog would not hunt; it needs a cover at a minimum.

The fundamentals of these trailers are unchanged. Same torsion arm configs, some set up steps, etc. Given time I expect the SD factory will hit its stride. Right now I would find a 2014 out of Tennessee if I were looking.

I have too many pictures to post, so I will put up four from inside the 3124 and one from outside showing the dual access doors under the bed.

Feel free to contact me if you have specific questions.

Larry

Larry - thanks for the pictures.

Re picture 1: The toilet is now on a pedestal? I wonder why. Also, I note the V-cut where the upper bathroom wall meets the lower bathroom wall. That is a nice change. But I'm not sure how the under-sink cabinet door opens. Maybe I am seeing it wrong.

Re picture 2: The dual access doors are sure a nice thing. Wish mine had 'em.

Re picture 3: The cabinet doors have European-style hinges! I love it! seems like some wasted space under the water heater, though.

Re picture 4: Nice storage space. And again, hooray for the new hinges.

I like the triangular counter in the bathroom. I wonder if it would be feasible to move the sink out a couple of inches? My main complaint is using the sink in my TM puts an awkward twist in my back.
