What are the alota on the right and left side by the burners on top of he oven used for or are they a design cutout.Im sure this has been asked I can't find the thread ....

I'm trying to figure out what the slots on the top of my oven are used for?where the burners are located twords the back by the wall on the left and right side

These are almost certainly vents. As the oven gets hot, a certain amount of heat soaks through the insulation. If that heat gets trapped, the area outside the insulation tends to get pretty warm. With an air vent at the bottom (which you can't see) and another at the top, the trapped heat is carried away by the air flow through the panel.
