Ballpark, per www.nadaguides.com , for Santa Clara county, CA, $5800-$6700 is book, but you may do better or worse.

Is this the one listed in Gilroy, CA? $10k seems pricey to me, but I'm cheap.

Good luck, hope it works out.

Hi. Yes this is the one in Gilroy. Looked at it and it is ok condition. It is on consignment. I was not planning to go higher than $7500. Dealership said they would inspect the trailer for me and let me know how everything is working or not. But now we have seen one in Ashland, Oregon that we are planning to drive up and see. 350 miles away but I think it may be in better shape. 2006 2720SL for $9500. But I am cheap too. But I will offer a fair price for a good product. I do have a question for you. I assume the 2" lift and 15" tires help with the off road clearance. Thank you for your response.

Somewhat, more importantly the lift and 15" wheels allow you to run 15" wheels.

15" wheels have a higher weight rating, 14" wheels have very little margin for error unless you upgrade your 14" tires to "D".

The axle is in the same place but lift may help with tail dragging.

I would not put any tire on a trailer that did not have at least a Load Range of D (8 ply rating) or E (10 ply rating).

They must exceed my expected maximum load at 65 psi (E rated tires can go to 80 psi but have the same rating as a D at 65. 80 psi may shake the TM too much.) It is a formula that varies by tire size and rating but not brand.

They must have a Nylon cap (shows as 1 Nylon ply in the tread on the sidewall).

All of that said, there are more 15s that meet those criteria than 14s.

Just a few other things: use high pressure metal valve stems and have the tires balanced dymanically (trailers have no shocks and an out of balance tire at harmonic speed can get interesting). ST (special trailer) tires have a 65 mph speed rating unless otherwise noted. A long range TPMS system is a good idea. For 15" tires I would want at least a 6" wide wheel rated for over 2000 lbs.

ps As the supply drops, NADA may be lagging real values. I am seeing a lot less on CL now than two years ago.

Two4,

As the others have stated, a little more clearance, larger choice of tires available, allows me to use a minimal drop (1") drawbar (more level when towing).

I also had to replace torsion bars due to damage from previous owners, but had all work done at Hartington, NE factory, including tires from local supplier there.

Tows wonderfully, w/o WDH, set up is quite easy, even for a banged up old Vet. We paid $5K for our 2001 in 2015, but was in reasonable shape for it's age.

Also, as others have said, the available pool of TMs seems to be shrinking, so prices will fluctuate.

Hopefully you find a good match.

I will be looking at and hopefully buying a 2006 2027SL.
I was wondering if there is enough clearance for 15 inch
tires without the lift kit?
