Hi Tom,

Why do you need to replace it? Is it repairable?

I remembered this thread where there is much discussion about patching the gray water tank. It is made out of ABS and several people have successfully patched their tank.

Oh, no... I see you are not a member, so you probably won't be able to see the thread. Why don't you join up, it is the best $12 I spend each year...

Anyway, it basically says

making repair patches using MEK and scrap ABS
Hope that helps, Keith

My outflow pipe broke off at the tank. I tried using a flange with abs cement, and some screws but still have a little leak. I tried to contact the manufacturer, wevac plastics. I would try to replace the tank. All I get there is a fast busy. I wonder if they are in trouble too.

Hi,
On some types of black pipe, you can NOT use ABS cement. You have to use the cement for the black pipe.

I have had the problem of the pipe being pulled out of the tank on two different TMs. I n both cases I inserted the pipe into the tank about 2 inches and then used an epoxy caulk/sealer to cement it into place. The first instance I used the trailer for about 2 more years before I traded it. The recent occurrence was about a year ago. I got the necessary pipe and fixtures from Lowes. The epoxy came from Wal-Mart, but I've seen it in other places. It's about the size of a cigar. Cut off as much as you think you'll need and roll it into a ball for several minutes until it is thoroughly mixed. Then press it into place around the pipe. The notes with it say you can apply it under water, but I always clean the tank around the hole and press plenty of the epoxy around the pipe. It has been holding for over a year.
