New Owner with a Roof question
Hello,
First off, I want to say thank you to everyone on this site. We have been looking into what camper we wanted for a year or so and I research stuff to death. This has been very helpful! I have searched and searched but have not come upon a thread that helps. My apologies if I have missed it somewhere.
The strip (approx 2" wide) that runs on the roof from one side to the other has came loose. I bought 3m 4200 to put it back down with and was about to prep the surface and figured I needed some opinions. The old adhesive is still on the roof and I am not sure what to use to get it off. I have read many threads regarding decal removal and various brands to use but I haven't seen any regarding this particular location. I bought goof off (Goo Gone product) but I am a little nervous it may damage part of the roof. I have used this in my truck before and my wood grain dashboard is no longer wood grain. lol. Please help or guide me in the right direction. BTW, this is on a 2005 Trailmanor 2720SL. I have it setup right now but when I let it down I will try and get a picture.

I'm not sure that I have the right mental picture. A strip that runs side-to-side on the roof? Apparently not a vinyl molding strip since we are talking about decals and Goo-Gone for adhesive removal. Can you help me out? Which roof (front or rear)? Where on the roof? Thickness of the strip? As you say, a photo would help me out.
You aren't by any chance talking about a strip of clear UHMW tape, are you? Many of us installed that as a rub strip, to prevent the bag seal on one roof from rubbing through the paint on the other, when the TM is closed for travel.

Lol. Ok thanks. I will get mineral spirits and try it out. Glad I asked! I think that goof off stuff can do some real damage to stuff if you don't know exactly what you are dealing. So using mineral spirits you just brush it on and wipe off. Anything else? I was going to put it back down with 3m 4200. What did you use?
