Not 100% sure but I get the feeling it Skidaway is one of the parks that stays pretty steady all year long being close to a tourist area. I believe it was fall and winter the times we were there but even then, the rangers were riding around prodding everyone not to stay past the official checkout time. This was even on Sundays and it didn't appear to be filled to capacity.

But is is not close to any beaches that I know of, at least not the main "Savannah Beach", which is Tybee Island.

In general, most of the state parks in the lower part of the state are a little slower in the summer due to the heat/humidity and bugs. I imagine hotter than Hades there as well, because you aren't catching any steady ocean breezes that far in.
