Default Aluminum tube stuck in upward position

When I opened up my TM today, I discovered that the left aluminum latch tube on the front section has somehow gotten stuck in an upward position and is now sticking up through the shell. I don't know how this could have happened...the close-down at the campsite seemed normal, and I don't know what to do to fix this. I tried shifting the wall, but I can't get enough clearance to move the bar to the downward position. Any ideas, please help!
