The sags continues............

Tom took the TM to Campersworld and they said that TM installs the ac in a unique way...and would not touch it.

So we have an appointment to take it back to the dealer for warranty work.
My list so far:

Flooring in front of the refridgerator. (lifting)

Seals on bedroom windows. (wrinkled where the others are smooth)

A.C.( has a majot leak)

Seal on bed slide out.

Sounds like a cop-out to me. TM installs a penthouse on the roof and then mounts the A/C in a standard size 14" cutout in the penthouse using factory standard A/C installation procedures.

We thought so too. But we could not make them fix it...thing is we told them it was a TM when we scheduled the appointment...would have preferred to have it done 18 miles from home rather then towing to Tampa and leaving it. We were all hitched up to go at 5am...but just unhitched everything...it has been really windy here but the wind lay enough for me to go on the gator hunt tonight that I won a couple of weeks ago.

Let me know how this issue goes for you...I've been bugging them about it since May and have yet to get a definitive answer. I called yesterday and sent Ed more emails, but I guess he's off til Monday...hope to have an answer then myself!

Cali Camping...We have not picked up our camper yet but...I did call today...fact is I was calling twice a week then three times a week...this week ...I call every day...

They say the A.C. is fixed! That they have reglued the flooring in front of the fridge, they removed the wrinkled wide white caulk/seal from the two windows...it was too long and they applied new and it has no wrinkles. Now all they are waiting for is the the new seal for the rear of the king bed. I spoke to Ed. on Monday and he says he has no outstanding order for this dealership. Hopefully we can pick up the camper soon. I will repost how the windows look after I see them.

Default Leaking Roof AC

Our 2004 2720SL had a leak around the roof AC. We brought it to a dealer in NH and it was repaired at no cost under warranty. The dealer said the factory had not tightened and compressed the gasket between the AC and the roof sufficiently. He said the gasket was not defective but replaced it anyway. I wonder how many other TMs made it out of the factory with the same problem.

In my 6 years of TM ownership and participation in this forum, I have come to the conclusion that there aren't really any systemic errors on the part of the factory, much as you might want to assume the contrary. The factory certainly does suffer from occasional random assembly errors, as any other small-volume factory does, and their Quality Control inspections have been slowly beefed up to cope with this. But this is not GM, assembling a million cars a day with the wrong bolt and generating a massive recall at the request of NHTSA.

Unlike GM or Ford or Toyota, TM always seems willing to correct an error without a big legal deal from the Gov't.

Perhaps your gasket is in fact defective or the leak is coming from some other orifice?
