Default Replacement Stabilizer Jack Screw?

One of my stabilizer jack screws is bent, so it makes it difficult to raise/lower. Is there a replacement for the screw, or does the whole jack need to be replaced?

I replaced my jacks a while back. I have the BAL type now, and I know you can email them for a replacement part. If it's a different maker, I'd email them and see what they can do for ya.
If you end up replacing the whole jack, I discovered the mounting brackets were spaced the same for both. I ended up leaving the original mounting brackets attached and pulled the one top bolt to remount the new jack.

Brad -

The OEM jacks were made by Liftco Inc, model 945000. You might email them and ask.

Default Stabilizer Jacks

We are new (used) TM owners. Our TM came with one previously replaced jack (hex nut drive) and three of (what I believe are to be original) jacks. The "original" ones have the single hole for the manual crank or "Allen wrench in the cordless driver" for adjustment. One of our 'originals' is also very bent. Cranking that thing is scary! I am thinking the best solution will be to replace all three of the older ones. Can you specify which replacement jacks are spaced the same as the originals?

I replaced the Camco with BAL 24002, 24" levelers. Mine bolt to my frame, not all TM's do. Older models bolt to the body of the trailer.

Kidkraz -

I've never seen a jack that was bolted to the TM body, so "older" must be really old. Maybe late '90's? My 2002 2720SL had the Liftco jacks bolted to the frame, just like today's.

I'm thinking that anything bolted to the body must be a drop-down stabilizer, rather than a jack. A lot of lightweight pop-up campers had drop-down stabilizers, but they couldn't actually lift the camper. There are four Liftco jacks, and they have a capacity of 5000 pounds each. Since a fully loaded TM doesn't weigh more than about 4000 pounds, that is plenty.

Anyway, Brad, the Liftco site will give you specs (hole spacing, etc) for your jack. I think you can get a new Liftco look-alike jack for about $25 plus shipping (though not directly from Liftco).

I bent one jack when a wheel dropped off in a ditch at my daughters house on a trip there. Jack was bent a little at the base plate. I figured I couldn't hurt it anymore so with a big hammer I whacked the jack back in line with the base.
I then took the jack off and secured it on my workbench and rotated it while tapping it with a hammer. Surprisingly the screw portion isn't hardened and was easy to bend back to straight, just takes a little patience, the threads on the shaft are rolled threads so the hammer did no damage to them as the threaded shaft is pretty soft.

Default Old jacks for sale cheap....

I have four jacks for sale and will take $20 for the lot or $10 a jack you pay the shipping. There are three in good condition and the fourth ones screw is slightly bent as I tried to drive off with it still down.....OOOOPS!

So $20 for the lot. PM me or send me an email if interested (my forum handle is my address). I replaced these with the Ultra-Fab Power Twin II stabilizer jacks that WILL not only lift my TM completely off the ground but completely stops the wobble and the wiggle of the trailer when someone walks inside or even turns over in bed. NO MORE TM Hula! I'm rock solid now!

I would suggest that everyone get the Power Twin II jacks. If you can't do that, then follow what Bruce Perens did and just off set one of the attachment screws on the mounting plate for each jack so they don't sit parallel with one another (see his web site). That will make it mo bettah by jiminy!

Tom.... who no longer has to do "The Dance of the MAD Leveler"

One of my jacks was gone and I bought 4 new Husky jacks with hex drive, and as Tom mentioned, mounted them so that they are not parallel. They weren't expensive. See my article. If you happen to be in Northern California, I still have the old three sitting in the dirt and being rained on, but they're hardly worth shipping when new ones are so inexpensive.
