Cabinet supports
I installed gas spring supports on the 3 front cabinet doors. It is so much easier to find things in the cabinet with both hands.

Those are nice supports. I think it would be better if the factory installed those front cabinet doors with the hinges at the bottom, a locking latch/handle at the top, and a chain to keep them from opening up too far down.

Looks nice, but I have no need for them. I never have any trouble getting stuff out of the front cabinets because I don't keep anything in them. Too hard to get to because I have to climb up onto the front bunk.
But I wish I had a set of cabinets just like them over the rear bunk.

I like the idea and think they look great. We don't keep much in the front overheads either but I do keep the clock and the outside temperature sensor there. So I don't have to climb on the front bunk I jump up on the frame after opening the shell but before pulling out the bed, pull out the clock and mount it in place with velcro on the front of the cabinet door, then jump down and pull the bed in place.

gas spring supports
Please post where you purchased the supports. When we wee in Phoenix this past winter we looked many places to find a support that would hold open the cabinets. I'm sure others would like to improve on their cabinets.

cabinet supports
I contacted Reid Supply Co this weekend on their web site and ordered all the parts for the overhead cabinet. The approx. cost for these supports came to $38.00. Thanks for the help in locating the necessary parts.

I think I'll go with Bill's mod for $3.00! We hardly use those doors because you have to climb on the bed to reach them. Plus we only have two because of the ugly "Seth Thomas" clock in the middle. I see they quit putting those things in the newer models. I need to figure out something different to put where the clock is. Maybe a nice picture that will cover all the holes. (Clock is screwed on and a big hole in the middle where the clock works are.)
