I think the Rise is actually a good move for them. I have seen what they have been working on twice now and it is still not ready for prime time, but that is still to be expected. They need to do two basic things to make it a winner in my book. One, is to make a rear bath that is a nice size bathroom with a real shower (probably more realistic in a larger model) and not being so cramped in the rest of the area. The bathroom needs to have walls that slide up as the Rise is raised which is no great engineering effort. The Murphy bed is a great idea as you can gain much more usable space when not sleeping. To make it work, they need to create a nice furniture look when it is raised (perhaps book cases with a fold out desk?), as I have seen in other nice trailers or motorhomes. That will open them up to a new segment of buyer - those that do not want to do anything much to open the camper and feel like they did not compromise much for getting the lighter weight and better towing. The low volume they sell now shows that those of us willing to do it are a small minority and they need to find a product that expands their customer base. Plus, when opening the Rise in the rain it should be much less stressful than the standard TMs. I bet they will eventually be able to use a remote control to do it.
Having said all of that, I would also encourage them to create an affordable option to automatically open up the standard TMs as well, expand the bathroom in the 3124s that have the space to do it, etc.
