Default Referigerator Vent Pipe?

I opened the external access panels top the back of the refrigerator today on the TM I just bought and I observed what appears to be a plastic dryer vent pipe and assume it's to vent hot air from the refrigerator. The plastic is very brittle and this needs to be replaced. Could I use a metal vent pipe? Is there a fan at the bottom?

Thanks. I appreciate the good advice I get here.

I know the picture is upside down, the original is not and I cannot figure how to correct this. I even reversed the original picture hoping it would be reversed again on here and be correct. Any suggestions?

You are correct in assuming the "white dryer hose" is to pull the heat away from the refrigerator cooling fins. It is designed to work when the trailer is closed and the refrigerator is operating. I don't think an aluminum tub would work because there is not enough room between the back of the refrigerator and the box wall between the upper and lower vents. Since it is a standard dryer vent hose it is easily replaced. My vent hose also dried out and needed replacement. Carefully remove the damaged hose and use it as a template for the replacement which is available at any hardware store. Getting the new one in place is a bit of a challenge. It takes a fair amount of patience to get the vent hose by the back of the refrigerator and the box wall. I found that carefully twisting the hose wire past the tight area, one wire at a time worked best at positioning the replacement hose.

There is a fan at the bottom of the hose, mounted over a circular hole in the floor. You can see the hole if you look up from underneath - it is covered with screen to keep insects and critters out. Note that in order to remove heat effectively, it is important that the fan suck air down from the top, and blow it out through the hole in the floor.

Some of our members have installed a second fan that blows directly out through the access panel. This works well when the TM is open, but doesn't do much when it is closed.

It may be something weird about my computer setup, but I have found if I click on the upside down (or sideways) picture, it magically rights itself. I have no idea why, but I gather that the click somehow tells the program to ignore the picture's metadata, where the orientation info resides. Does this work for anyone else?

I'm on my computer, using Windows 7 and Firefox. Firefox displays images directly in the browser, without starting any other image software.

If i click on the picture it does not right itself. If I open in a new tab it rights itself.

The image rights itself in both the preview or new tab. I’m using my iPhone.

Aha!

In Firefox, under Tools > Options > General > Tabs, there is a check box called
Open New Windows in a New Tab Instead. When I click on the upside down picture,
. When checked, Firefox automatically opens a new window and displays the righted picture.
. When unchecked, Firefox displays the righted picture in the current window.
Either way, I don't have to do anything.
I have no idea what this means but, as many of you have pointed out, it has something to to do with the New Tab function.
