Default LP Conversion Kit for Generators

Actually it's a tri-fuel conversion - you can use gasoline, LP, or natural gas. It's an established company with a good reputation.

I received the Honda EU2000is tri-fuel conversion kit, very easy install. Here's a link where a guy has pictures of an install - http://www.survivalistboards.com/sho...d.php?t=313481

https://www.motorsnorkel.com is the manufacturer, they have conversion kits for a wide range of generators. They also sell Yamaha and Westinghouse generators that are converted already, accessories like kit-to-LP tank hoses, etc.

I put the tri fuel kit on a Honda eu2000i, works fine on LP.

However, one thing about it is there's a 'load block' bolt with a locknut on the LP regulator that has to be adjusted properly.

What the load block does is adjust the LP air/fuel mixture like a carburetor choke.

You screw the load block bolt in too far, you run too lean and stall the engine. You screw it out too much, you run rich and waste propane.

It's not plug-n-play with propane, but that's about the only downside I can see. The load block may need adjusting depending on load, altitude, but it's simple to do and better to carry LP tanks than gas containers.

Put a tankfoot like this on 20lb LP tanks, they're helpful. http://www.acehardware.com/product/i...0-d5b12adeddda

Stumbled on this LP conversion kit. http://www.genconnexdirect.net/honda...generators.htm

Missed it before. It's only for Honda's and completely eliminates the gas tank. The propane regulator goes into the spot the gas tank occupied.

Clean looking install, you don't have the LP regulator hanging off of the side like with other LP conversion kits. You lose gasoline capability, but what a clean installation.

That is helpful information. Thanks

On the load block, it should be pretty easy to tell when you are running lean. Have you figured out how to tell if you are running rich?

No. The sequence is to back the loadblock out 1/2 - 3/4 inch at initial startup, that should get you started. Then adjust it in until it starts to stumble, back it out a turn. Then put a near-max load on it (1500W heater in my case) and if it stumbles back the loadblock out until it's smooth.

That should make it all good, but possibly with large altitude changes you may need to do some more adjusting.

(I guess you could say you're running too rich if you back it out more than a turn or two after finding the lean point)
