Default Toilet charged during storage?

Is it best to keep some water and chemical in the toilet between camping trips. I wasn't sure if the seals would dry out or have an odor. Thanks, lots to learn

If I am going to put the TM away for a while, I put a glug* or two of Thetford toilet seal lube into the bowl, and follow it with the same amount of water. It seems to keep the rubber seals flexy, and also keeps the slide from sticking to the rubber.

Bill

*Glug - a metric measurement equal to half a sploosh. Tilt the bottle sharply, and tilt it back when you hear "GLUG".

Does that Thetford stuff not freeze? I understand you don't run into much freezing weather, but here in western NY we definitely get cold in the winter.

The ad on Camping World, and the listing on Amazon, include the words

o Use throughout season and for winterization

Of course at some point it will freeze if you glug in too much water.

Think I'll try a "glug" in my cassette 😀

Default Glug glug glug

Would there be any down side to using a glug of rv anti-freeze fluid with the Thetford liquid vs. using a glug of water?
