Default First Trip with 3023

We bought our '08 3023 TM about a month ago, but we didn't get the chance to get out until this weekend. My TV is a '06 Ridgeline and so far no problems with sway or lack off power. Even though we only camp out about 15min from our house, I did towed it from the dealer on back roads, city roads, and highway to get home, at various speeds with no problems. I used a Prodigy Brake Controller and OM hitch on the Ridgeline, no WDH or Anti Sway bars. My family consist of 2 adults, 3 children raging on ages from 7yrs to 1.5 yrs, one little dog and one big dog. The big dog rides on the bed of the truck in a special create, that I prepared for her. I can even send some A/C from the main cabin if it gets to hot through the back window.

Thanks to all the advice and countless hours of reading on this site we were well prepared for our first trip. Everything went according to plan except for the the storms that came through in the middle of the day. This is the first TT that we own, but we have rented hybrids before, and let me tell you, we had plenty of space on the TM compared to the hybrids. The only thing I would advice to anyone with kids our age is to bring plenty of things for them to do when it rains. Even though there was enough space for all of us to wait out the storms in the TM, the kids got bored fast with the things that we had for them inside the TM.

One concern I had before we left was the toilet, but after following all the suggestions on this site, we had no problems with it. I charged it when we got there on Friday and empty before we left on Sunday. It was about 2/3 full and there was no smell at all except for the chem smell, which is not bad after all. I was well pleased with the system. My wife doesn't really like to camp but she said that this time it was like been at home but in the mountains.

Thanks to all, and I think that I should become a member now, that I am an owner.
