Default Adjusting torsion bars

When adjusting I go 1/4 turn at a time on all four if opening evenly just hard. Modules must be up to adjust

Have to realize that the screw is twisting the bar in a slot and the assembly is welded to the frame.

The ajustment may reach the limit of the slot while the screw still has threads left. In that case there is no more adjustment left.

It may be possible to elongate the slot without weakening the mount using a die grinder bit I have not neded yet though after adding the solar panels on the rear module am near.

Below is a picture of a bar that has reached the limit of adjustment.

It keeps the torsion bar from coming out of the slot where there is little pressure on it.

For such a high end trailer, I would think a roll pin would be better...

Default Front shell a little harder to open

So I have come to the conclusion I need to adjust the front shell torsion bars.

So when I read Padgett's statement , says all 4 .. Could I just adjust the two in the front? Since the rear shell is fine up and down. thanks

There are 4 for each shell half. Two for the front end of a shell and two for the back end of the same shell.

Thanks Scrubjaysnest for clarifying that. So I should see 8 large bolt heads under there.

Hi Craig, just in case you don't know, be sure to have your TM in the open position, when adjusting the torsion bars. Turn all four bars one quarter turn, then test the shell. Repeat process as needed. Remember that the easier it gets to open, the harder it will be to close.

Thanks Tim

So I just went out to look at the adjustment bolts and I first thought it would be the four bolts closest to the front. But they seem to not be the four closest to the front, as the back ones to the front shell appear to be the bolts closer to the rear. If that makes sense. I will take some pics and try to explain better.

Here are the pics. I did get it adjusted started at 1/4 turn ended up doing 1/2 turn on all four . The pics showing the bars closest to the rear wheel is the front bars that is what first threw me. I expected it to be the ones closest to the front. Then of course the two in the very front closest to the tongue.

I can tell anyone who has never done this it is very easy and it takes a 28MM socket. The front opens and closes very easy. Thanks again to everyone here. Best $12 bucks I ever spent
