Adding removeable carpet squares over vinyl floor

First, can it be done and not mess up closing the trailer? If yes, does anyone know what the max thickness of the carpet square can be to work?

There is no problem in closing with carpet, if you don't have a slide. But, if you have a slide, you need to removed the carpet where the slide rests during travel.

I have put some carpet remnants in our KD, and just move the carpet to the "hallway" while towing. Or, I could put it at the feet of the dinette, before I put our cabinet and chest of drawers in there. Plenty of options, especially if you have multiple pieces of carpet.

Thanks. I did not want to remove it to close the slide, so will just go with rugs that are easily moved.
