Default I didnt do it...Window

My 5 year old came to me and told me the window was broken in the TM. I went out and sure enough, it was. While holding a small piece of rebar, my five year-old informed me that "Windows just sometimes explode for no reason in Colorado," and "Thank Goodness we are moving to New England."

My question is twofold:

1: What is the most affordable way to change the glass/window? Can I just change the glass?

2: Would it be a good investment to try to manufacture non-spontaneously combustible glass for these poor Coloradoans who must be in constant fear of their lives from flying glass shards?

I hard no idea that my five year old was so informed about this problem......while holding the small piece of rebar.

My windows have yet to experience spontaneous combustion, but with 3 boys under 11 I am definitely not ruling out the possibility. I will proceed cautiously and consider it a warning! (And I will hide the rebar)
Should I have to deal with this horrible problem particular to Colorado, I will probably call my local glass shop and have them come out and assess replacement costs, just as was advised in the link posted by Mike.
Do you think spontaneous combustion of windows only happens in the presence of rebar? It is worth considering!

I really have no solution to your problem, other than to have the local glass shop look at it, but thanks so much for the laugh, I really needed it today!

Ahhhhhhh lil boys what can you do but hug em...love em...and forgive them. My son is 31 when he was under 10...he hit a golf ball with a baseball bat...it went straight for my bedroom window.

I had to go check mine, they have not exploded yet. LOL

I sure pulled some stupid stunts that resemble your 5 year old when i was younger, but I was twice as old and my parents didn't see the humor in it like you seem to. Your boys are lucky to have you as a parent.

Thanks everyone. I took the frame out, took it to the glass shop, and $60.00 later I was fixed.
