Longest trip to buy a TM
I am curious what the record is for the longest drive to buy a TM?
I did a search and didn't find anything so forgive me if this has already been done. Mine was only 60 miles so I'm out.
Grubbyjeans indicated that they traveled from Houston, TX to Advance, NC. According to Google maps, that's about 1,100 miles.

We traveled 600 miles each way. I know a guy by the name of Wayne that use to have a TM. He traveled from Southern, CA to somewhere in mid PA and hauled it back on old tires.

We traveled 865 miles each way to buy our TM last fall = 1730 miles total. It was worth it.

We bought our TM from a guy outside of Knoxville, TN, and lived in LA at the time. I flew to a friend's house in NC, where we drove from there to TN to pick it up and take it back to their house. Then I flew back to LA.
A few months later, we drove from LA to NC to pick up the TM at the friend's place, then up to Pennsylvania, Vermont, Quebec, Ontario, Michigan, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and finally back to LA.
Excluding the cross-country round-trip flight, the NC to TN roundtrip was 700 miles and the big trip was 7,200.6 miles.
So that makes our trip 7,900.6 miles. It was fabulous.

We took a trip from Santa Cruz, CA to Boise ID to look at a TM. It wasn't what we wanted. On the way home, I stopped by Salem, OR where my cousins and aunt lived. Told them about my failed purchase attempt. My cousin found one and then we went from Santa Cruz to Salem, OR to pick it up and take it home. 1800 miles the first trip, 1300 the last (according to Google maps?).
Enjoyed each trip, got to see some new sights and visit the relatives.
Gas was a lot cheaper 12 years ago.

Colorado to Rhode Island and Back
We bought our 2720SD on Ebay from a dealer in Rhode Island, and drove to get it. We got out of town quick back East because Hurricane Irene was bearing down on us. About 5,000 miles all told.

My dealer was something like 35 miles away. At the time I thought most everybody had a dealer close...didn't realize how lucky I was!
