Your opinion please

All,
I now have the mechanism in place to automatically move new users into a Trial Member status, and move those who have been trial members for more than 30 days into a registered guest status. My question is should I move the rest of the topics that are currently in the TrailManor Travel Trailers section to the Site Sponsor's area or leave it as it is currently? Some of the sections would go into the open area, but would limit access to the General Discussion, Maintenance Discussion, and Tips and Tricks section to the sponsor's area. The others would go to the guest area. You are voting to Yes do it, or to No not do it.

I'd recommend leaving General Discussion and maybe Maintenance in an area open to all...these are informative and possibly enticements to non-TM owners who are just browsing. Similarly Pictures should stay in an open to all area as an enticement.

Tips definitely should be in Sponsors, IMHO.

The tire discussion is kinda getting outmoded now that most TMs aren't on Carlisle tires anymore and the Goodyear tires seem to be quite reliable.

Like Ray I think general and pics should be public domain. The tips however should be for us. The reason, we need value added for our $1. ;D

There really does need to be an incentive for folks to help support this site and the tips in one of the best I can think of.

Edit:
On second thought, move all three including the "General Discussion" to the sponsors only area. We will be duplicating every string between the two areas if it is not moved.

I'd have to agree with the rest, tips and maintenence in the sponsers area, gen discussion open for all. (Why would someone just browsing need to know how to fix their thetford?) General discussion pretty much covers anything, and *if* there is a TM owner out there that isn't a sponser, they can always still ask just about anything about em in that area, lol, and you know us Chris, we'll respond to em and help em out. Well, thinking on it a little, I'm not sure how you have that all set up, I sent in my check so fast, I don't know what the deal is with it. lol How about moving those two, as well as a few new topics to an area just for Trial members or something that they would lose if they don't send in their 12 bucks? After all, we don't *just* want people to be enticed into buying TM's, we want more site sponsers as well. (Or do you have it set up now that trial members can read the sponser's area? That's the part I dunno about). Maybe you could bump it up to 60 days or so as a trial member or something like that. What do the rest of you guys think?

P.S.........Sheepdogs is a docter and has expressed interest in maybe a topic called "ask the doctor" for the sponsers area where he'd answer general questions for people. (Tho I don't know why, with all the old creeky people in this place, he'll be constantly busy with that one topic.....LOL)! (Just pickin!)

Remember that new users get 30 days as a site sponsor, and then they go to limited access. They will have access to the sponsor section for 30 days. This is the part that I dislike.

Maybe we could trim that down to 5 or 10 so that they can see what they are getting for their money.
