Default copper rod (3/8") piercing

We have been traveling about a month with a 2720sl (2007) and a day ago as we were setting up the unit, I noticed a metal rod jutting out of a small hole about 8'' from the steps(towards the front of the unit) It appears to be copper, it has about 3' exposed, and is about 3/8". Surprised!!!
Is this some sort of grounding rod that has somehow worked its way through
the bottom of the floor?
We had traveled on clear roads during the daytime at reasonable speeds and no
road debris...
The unit sets up fine and while the rod appears loose, I don't want to touch anything until I know what the h is going on!
Any ideas?
Thanks
