Default Camp Ground hosting

Just curious if any of you TM folks do any Camp Ground hosting.
We have some friends that host occasionally and they have applied to several CG's for the opportunity to do it again this summer.
Seems like it might be a nice way to spend the summer.

For some good camp host posts, go to a sub-forum on RV.net. scroll through, as there are several threads on workcamping which includes camp host experiences. There is a good Camp Host Stories thread.

We hosted for two and 1/2 months in CO in the Grand Mesa but it can tie you down. Look at what they offer. Some deals are better then others. Here in Big Bend you get a camp site. CG host is 3 on 3 days off. Visitor center is 4 days on 4 off then 3 days at the visitor center with the 4 day out in the park somewhere in uniform. No stipend. BLM usually has a $34/day stipend and elec/water/sewer unless the CG is totally dry then you will usually get solar array/gen with gas, water buffalo(tank) and propane. This all varies. Duties vary. NPS it can be compliance check only to clean fire pits and toilets; or man a check in station when park employee is off. ACOE is by contract which includes site with full hook ups. Usually it is 12 days 4 days per week manning a check in station collecting fees. USFS you get a site, 5 days on 2 off, you may have to man a check in station. You may have to clean fire rings and toilets. To our knowledge all stipends have been done away with. State parks are all over the place as for duties but many times they are more flexible with stay length. Some TXSP can be as little as a month.
