BK, I was refering to the Beartooth Pass. Both times that I have been over the road, I had come from Jasper, Banff, and Waterton national parks in Canada and Glacier in Montana and I have been through RMNP. We had had several days in Yellowstone and in the Tetons. Still we were very impressed by this road. I can more easily say what was great on these other roads than I can say what was spectacular about Beartooth pass. It may have been the 360 degree sunset that day at the top, or the fact that I have lived in the Smokey Mountain area all my life which are hardly comparable to the Rockies. I guess what makes a place or road so special has to do with many things that are hard to quantify.
Joe, I didn't mean to discourage that trip. Bill was right in saying that your Tundra should have no trouble using good mountain driving techniques. I should have looked at your signature for what you tow with. My bad.
I like the idea of starting a new thread that would have the Westerners give us Easterners their top 10 roads. We went on the Beartooth Pass road the first time accidentally because of where we were and our time frame. I wouldn't want to miss another place like this from ignorance.
