UPDATE: The repair performed by Philip's Plastics failed. I don't know exactly when it failed, but I just had the first opportunity to inspect it -- I had it done 2 years ago. My repair looked just like Goodyear Travels / Eric's, with the odd-shaped plastic pieces reinforcing the crack on the underside of the toilet.
I removed the toilet yesterday because I noticed the seal in the EZ-Slide valve had deformed, preventing the valve from closing completely. When I flipped the toilet upside down to remove the valve (and replace the seals), I heard something moving around inside. Upon opening up the toilet, I discovered that it was those odd-shaped plastic pieces. They both had detached from the toilet, and have virtually no residue on them (adhesive or otherwise), which leads me to believe they were very poorly bonded to the toilet.
So I added more bumpers so my seat now looks like Bill's, and I'm hoping I can nurse it a little while longer. Disappointing.....
