Combining gray and black dumps
Has anyone considered (or performed) a snap on connection between the grey and black line dumps? It would be far easier to connect the dump hose to one connection, pull the black line, drain and then pull the gray line and drain. I despise switching the connection between the black and gray connections.

I may be wrong, but I think the older TM's had this type of plumbing and the company decided to seperate them, why I don't know.

First I've heard of this. Our 2001 has only one outlet. Maybe some campground regulations drove this?

I sort of remember reading that this was an EPA thing, but I can't find a link to support this information.
I suppose that you might be able to find a Y connection to combine two dump valves? Or maybe not...
If you have 2 separate valves, why would you need two separate outlets? It's just more plumbing to get trashed if you have a blowout.

I read on this site that due to a change in regulations the two dump systems had to be separated. This was not a TM change, but the "powers to be" made the change for all trailers (can't remember who they are). I would prefer one dump connection also.

My neighbor has a 2011 'Roo' with one single connection. Most newer campers have only one single connection for Gray / black water.

Wow! This is the first I've ever heard of two separate outlets. It makes absolutely no sense. I've searched the web to see if I can find a reason for doing this, but to no avail.
Can somebody send me a picture of this setup?

I was told it was a federal and/or campground "powers that be" regulation, as there may be instances when the dumps need to be separated, and this would allow visual confirmation by those powers that be?
Dunno. This is what I was told when I got my 2009.5. It was pretty new then, I think. Surprised me.
I don't see the need, by not my decision. I'd consider a Y adapter if it didn't stick out, because that's not something I'd want to mess with every time I put the TM away.
EDIT: Just did a little looking, and there are some campgrounds "out there" that have site-specific hookups for gray water only (sump-style), with the black water required to be dumped at a central location. In this instance, one can see an argument on the part of the camp ground owners to have separate outlets, so they could visually make sure that no one was hooking up their black water to the gray dump and contaminating the ground in that area.

Wow again. The things you learn by being a member of this forum.
I've never camped where there were grey water only hookups. I'll be on the lookout for those. I would feel miffed if I made reservations at a campground that advertised "full hookups," only to find when I got there they really meant "grey water hookup."
I still don't see the need to plumb in two separate valves, though. If someone intends not to follow the rules, it's a simple matter to move the hose from one valve to the other when no one is looking and then move it back. The honest people will comply with "no black water dumping on site" by just telling them that.
