As I remember, I think the curve in the rack made it possible to fasten the front low on the draw bar and still get high enough to clear the gas bottles. I don't have any close up pics and all that stuff is put away right now, but you can go to the other post - #7 on the page below, then right click and save the images to your computer, then you will be able to zoom in and see my connectors. It is actually a very simple rig - does require some welding that I did with a wire feed. I have taken corners that are a lot more then 90 degrees and the bikes don't even come close to the rear window on my pickup cap.

Wish they made that rack in a 3 bike model. I really like the setup. I can't justify spending hundreds on a front or receiver plus a couple hundred more on a rack when I have about $150 invested in our 3 bicycles ($80 20" bike for the boy, bought a pair of 26" Huffy bikes at a garage sale for $30 and put less than $50 into fixing them up).

bought a cheaper rack that has a straight 2" bar instead of the angled rack I use for the car. Still seems to be sitting higher than I would really like. I did test drive with both bikes on, I had to lower the handle bars and take off the bike bags. It is doable but still not 100% happy yet. Btw, the cheap rack was 35 bucks and free shipping ebay.. but I did weld it up , otherwise it is held together with bolts , and it does not fold up anyway. So welding it was.

Craig,

Try arranging the bikes so that both sets of handle bars are on the passenger side. It gives the driver a much better field of vision.

See my arrangement here: http://www.trailmanorowners.com/foru...&pictureid=156

I will try that arrangement again, I did that earlier and the handlebars were fighting each other. I might have to lower the stem on my bike. Thanks Dick.

That's exactly what I do too.....Can you re-locate the wheel locations (slide one set inboard and one more outboard) so the the handle bars don't "fight"??

Default Installed rear receiver hitch for bike rack

Since my wife did not like to drive with bikes in the front, I went ahead and welded in and bolted a 2" receiver into a more substantial bumper on the rear of the TM. Just have to button it back up now. and cut a hole in the bumper cover...That will be the hard part

Default Rear Receiver done

I think this will workout great in the back. Now I need to find 2 of the long turn buttons to keep the cover in place. My helper is seen in the pic leaving, what a helper. lol

Well done, Craigrrr. I'll be saving your thread for future reference as my granddaughters are getting their first bikes for Easter.

Craig, I removed my locking levers and use the heavy duty 3M Scotch All Weather Fastener Velcro to keep my cover secured. In fact when I went to Custom RV for a tune up they installed a set for me and I removed them once I got back home. It was easy and cheap.
