what can I replace ac with
I just picked up a 97 2518 that is in pretty good shape at an estate sale today, however the ac is not cooling. My question is can I just replace it with a small window unit ac, or is there something special about the unit? It is not a roof mount, it is located inside the camper.
Thanks

A window unit will work fine. Search the Appliances forum for lots of details about which ones have been tried and how to install. Look in particular for a thread by harveyrv.

That seems like an obsolete unit. This Sharp seems about the right size and has free shipping. It is said to be quiet.

His discussion is still pretty solid, but unfortunately his pictures are gone - a consequence of using Photobucket or another outside host instead of putting the pictures right here on TMO.
Bill, by any chance did you copy his pictures are part of redoing your unit?

Unfortunately I didn't. I was replacing a unit, not a new install, so my job was easier than harveyrv's.
