New Factory
Just visited the new factory in SD just north of Mitchell. The new building is part of a Hutterite community. The main enterprise of this group is farming. So when you get to the place you think you are on a farm (pict 1). But the TrailManor factory is there several building in on the right. I had called earlier and picked up several parts for my old 2003 2720SL. I was informed by the plant manger that the are putting out 2 units a week. But he hoped to get to 3 per week by the end of the year. The assembly process was clearly set up. TMs’ were there at various stages of completion. I was given free range of the floor and enjoyed walking through. I have attached a number of photos. My seamstress wife was impressed with the quality. The new TMs looked great. Electric slide outs are now a standard feature. You can upgrade for about $600.

I'm amazed they let you just walk around unattended. OSHA would have a cow.... Pretty sure they would consider it a safety hazard! Thanks for posting - makes it so much easier to lay the flooring with nothing to cut around... LOL

I really enjoyed looking at the pictures of the factory as well. Thanks.
Laying flooring like that sure speeds up production, but it makes replacement a hastle.
Now, $600 to add an electric lift mechanism is worth considering. I'll have to replace a couple of torsion bars first probably.

Casey -
It appears that they have gone back to white paint but with black trim. Do you recall seeing any white-on-white (old style) units? Probably too soon for them to be doing anything but the basics.

The lift is not electrical the slide out is what is electrical. They determined it was easier to lift than pull out the units with slide outs.

I would agree with that. I can pull out the slide out but I usually go inside, sit down and push it out with leg strength rather than arm muscles. In addition I picked up upgrades on my 2003 wheels. The originals that I am now using are less than one inch wide. The new rollers are about two inches wide and are dual rollers so will be getting four times the surface area. That should help with sliding out the slide out.
