Default Question about WFCO power converter

In the manual for the WFCO model WF-8955AN power converter, it has the following statement.

“5-3.6 CAUTION: If the converter cycles into the bulk charge mode more than once during a charge cycle check the battery(s) to determine if it has a bad cell.”

Does anyone know how to determine if converter cycles more than once during a charge cycle?

There is no indicator showing cycles or even if it is in the bulk charge mode. The WFCO manual states the longest the bulk mode should remain in effect is 4 hours. You can tell if it is in the bulk charge mode by the sound level of the internal cooling fan. When in the bulk mode the fan is definately louder. As the unit shifts out of the bulk mode you will definately hear the fan sound get quieter. The caution statement is a very generalized statement. Also this statement would only be true if you had no load changes (i.e. lights, pumps or other DC items turned on or off) during the 4 hour period as this could cause a change in the battery voltage and a subsequent change in the units charging mode.
