Default 2720 Closed Length with Swing Hitch?

Hi all,

I'm trying to see if I can fit a standard 2720 with a swing hitch into my garage. Trailmanor's site indicates its 20' 3" closed with the standard hitch. ... also there is no mention of width.. anyone know what the width is?

Thanks kindly,
s-one

The TM specifications page shows 7'7" width plus 5" for the awning.

I dont' recall off the top of my head, but I remember that the measurements I made on ours was spot on to the TM literature.

Thanks for the width Al-n-Sue!

Jim&Joan.. I looked but I didn't see the length with the swing hitch. Or is the 20' 3" with a swing hitch? I mean does the swing hitch come standard so that would be the length?

Thanks all!

The 20'3" is the "tow length", so no, it doesn't reflect the length when folded.
No, the swing hitch is not standard. It is a option ($537 according to the TM site.)

I'd be about 6" short of getting my garage door shut without the swing hitch.

The overall length of a recent 2720SL is almost exactly 20 feet - within an inch as measured on mine. Models earlier than about 2002 would be longer because the spare tire was mounted on the rear bumper.

The swing hitch nominally makes it 2 feet shorter, but I seem to recall that it is actually about 22" shorter.

There was a thread a year or so ago in which detailed measurements of the width were posted. The Search tool should turn it up.

My garage is 19 foot 6 inches.

I can park my 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD, if I pull it in exactly square.

my 2005 TM 2720 would not fit if it were not for the swing tongue. I have a little over a foot to spare.

I have the factory rear hitch receiver. It sticks out about 6 inches past the bumper. I have several holes in the sheet rock at the back of the garage to prove that the bumper will not hit the wall. I use the rear hitch receiver as a step when washing the roof of the TM.

The 7'7" + 5" for awning is a bit misleading on the part of TM. The overall width may be correct, but removing the awning only gives a little over 1", maybe 2" before you need to deal with the lights that stick out on the sides. I've replaced the 3 big ones with flatter LEDs, and made my awning removable, so that I can fit into my single car garage. It does fit, with some machinations (winch + tracks on floor of garage). I have the swing hitch -- necessary for me -- and I have to put mine in hitch-first, because of the configuration at the back of the garage -- I don't have the full depth for the whole width of the space.

But, it does fit

If you need any additional measurements, I can try to help.

Thanks for clarifying - the brochure actually says 5" for awning and lights.
